Der be quiet! Dark Rock 5 ist der letzte Kühler der neuen „5er-Generation“ den man vorgestellt hat. Zudem ist er der kompakteste und für weniger anspruchsvolle Aufgaben als Single-Tower ausgelegt. Er positioniert sich unter dem Dark Rock Elite (zum Test) sowie dem Dark Rock Pro 5. Im Praxistest wurde ermittelt, was er leisten kann.
Wie einleitend schon geschrieben, reiht sich dieser deutlich kompaktere CPU-Kühler in die Riege der neuen Kühlermodelle von be quiet! ein, die man im Laufe des Jahres 2024 präsentiert hatte. Er bietet das aktuelle Produkt-Design, einen Silent Wings 4 Lüfter in 120 mm sowie die bekannt hohe Verarbeitungsqualität. Leistungsmäßig sollte man diesen keinesfalls mit den beiden größeren Modellen vergleichen, sondern eher in direkter Gegenüberstellung des Dark Rock 4 setzen.
Eine RGB-Beleuchtung wie bspw. beim Dark Rock Elite gibt es hier nicht, dafür aber das bekannte „Deckeldesign“, sodass man z. B. auch das Logo richtig herum positionieren kann. Die UVP des Kühlers beträgt 69 Euro, der aktuelle Straßenpreis liegt inzwischen bei rund 60 Euro.
Die aktuellen CPU-Kühler der 5. Generation im Überblick
Der Dark Rock 5 möchte ein Kühler sein, der eine hohe RAM-Kompatibilität bieten will. Das wird mittels des seitlich versetzten Kühlturms erreicht, wodurch eine asynchrone Anordnung das Ergebnis ist. Der Vorteil dadurch, auch höhere RAM-Module können am Kühler vorbei montiert werden. Der Silent Wings 4 Lüfter in 120 mm wird mit einem Lautstärkewert von 29,8 dB(A) spezifiziert, bei voller Umdrehung von 2100 U/min versteht sich. Der Kühler ist auch so konzipiert, dass ein zweiter Lüfter auf der Rückseite verbaut werden kann.

Der Lieferumfang fällt 1:1 so aus, wie es auch beim Dark Rock Pro 5 der Fall ist. Er beinhaltet neben der ausführlich bebilderten Montageanleitung, Sockelhalterungen für alle gängigen AMD- und Intel-Plattformen, sowie eine kleine Tube an Wärmeleitpaste.
